Since the invasion of Iraq, i've heard a lot of things from my kurdish friends about their views on the U.S. and their neighbors, Iran. Since their so close to the boarder, they depend a lot on iran for their economy and stablity, but they dont want to anger the U.S. and their help. This is a tough act to accomplish for kurds living in iraq right now who need all the support they can get. The general consensus is that they respect america for overthrowing saddam but need iran's business to maintain their economy. This is an interesting mix of relationships. I think that the U.S. shouldnt be angered by the kurds need to maintain relations with Iran.

in the picture to the right- it shows kurds smuggling petroleum from iran- withouth which they would suffer shortages.
