U.S. attention on the Middle East is generally focused on Iraq lately, so it comes as no surprise that Bahrain, one of the more stabilized and well-off countries, has expressed concern about the U.S. role in the war. The Bahrainian information minister has stated that although they may not have agreed with the invasion in the first place, the United States should not pullout prematurely as that may destablize the country further. Although many people feel this way, I think that it is important coming from Bahrain because it is a U.S. ally and the United States even has a base there. Also, Bahrain is trying to a neutral party in terms of Iran and the United States with the same minister saying that Iran is a soverign country and surely the problems between Iran and the U.S. can be solved peacefully. I am not sure if this will happen because Bush has invaded two countries rather quickly and now Iran is basically surrounded.
