the top u.s.official to Afghanistan, Ronald Neuman, says that he is much more optimistic about the future of the country since he took his position in kabul in 2005. Somehow, i find that very hard to believe given the staggering rate at which the insurgents are gaining speed in Afghanistan right now. I think that Neumann must be very comfortable in his isolated, heavily protected and gaurded quarters. The situation infact is less hopeful to me now as an afghan than it once was.
